Introducing to the Chicago North Shore Moms community Glenview mom of two grown children and two stepsons, former pediatric nurse, current aesthetic nurse injector, and cofounder of Trio Med Spa located in Northfield, Nicole Cain.
Nicole began her career as a pediatric nurse caring for children with medically complex neurological disorders. As challenging and heartbreaking as that sounds, the work was also beautiful and rewarding for her. The life-altering career experience helped to shape her current endeavor as cofounder of Trio Med Spa. She explains, “I believe my experience [as a pediatric nurse] really shaped how I approached nursing as I moved on in my career. It taught me to really focus on the person and value the importance of cultivating long-term relationships.”
Nine years ago, she and her now business partner, Agnes Burton, co-founded Trio Med Spa with the shared vision of cultivating a collaborative, highly skilled team providing clients with natural, confidence-boosting results in a welcoming environment. So, whether she’s skiing, zip-lining, or enjoying a match of pickleball at PBHA, she carries forward her personal mantra: “Be kind to everyone. You never know their story.” Welcome, Nicole!

Hi Nicole! Please introduce yourself.
Hi! I’m Nicole Cain. I was born in New Jersey, raised in Michigan, and now live in Glenview.
Tell us about your children.
I’m a proud mom of two beautiful children. I have a 22 year old daughter, recent college graduate, who now works with Autistic Children and a 26 year old son, a former college hockey player, who is now a Biomedical Engineer. I’m also proud to have two step-sons, one in real estate and the other a forensic accountant.
What are one or two interesting facts to know about you?
When I started my career in nursing, I worked as a pediatric nurse and took care of children with medically complex neurological disorders. It was challenging, at times heartbreaking, but also beautiful and rewarding when I was able to see how my care made a difference in their lives and in the lives of their families. I believe my experience here really shaped how I approached nursing as I moved on in my career. It taught me to really focus on the person and value the importance of cultivating long-term relationships.
The second thing is that many may describe me as very easy-going and mellow but I do have a very adventurous side! I have zip-lined on the longest and highest zip lines in America and love to ski.
What are your favorite local places, spaces, and eats to frequent?
My recent favorites include Cafe Lucci in Glenview, Valley Lodge Tavern in Glenview, Happ Inn in Northfield. I also love spending time at Valley Lo Club and playing pickle at PBHA.
What are you reading and watching?
I’m currently rewatching Desperate Housewives with my daughter and reading Let Them by Mel Robbins.

We opened Trio Med Spa 9 years ago. Fun fact about our name… It’s called Trio because there are 3 of us that own the business. My operations business partner, Agnes Burton, and I always had a very specific vision when it came to the culture, energy and feel we wanted Trio to have. We always believed that we would only succeed if we cultivate the right team of experienced, professional, team-oriented individuals. We’ve had our ups and downs over the years but we can honestly say as of today, we have, by far, the best team we could have ever imagined.
What services does this med spa offer?
Trio Med Spa is a full service medical spa focused on anti-aging and offering everything from advanced skincare and laser services to injectables such as Botox, Dysport, Fillers, Biostimulators and more…

What services do you personally specialize in at Trio Med Spa?
I am an aesthetic nurse injector. I am known for my calming approach and natural results using Botox, Fillers and Sculptra.
What was the impetus behind going into this line of work?
When I was a young nurse, I saw my friends start having non-surgical treatments that looked so natural and beautiful. I was intrigued by how they achieved those results and wanted to learn more about it. For me it was more than just the way they looked…I liked the way these results made them feel. Refreshed, more confident and just feeling beautiful in their own skin. We all have our insecurities and we all know our looks change as we age. If we could do little things to continue to look naturally youthful and to keep loving our look why wouldn’t we? In a time when we (respectfully) tend to see quite a bit of over-enhancement, Agnes, I and the team here at Trio want to make sure our clients know that when they leave Trio, they will leave looking like themselves, just beautifully refreshed!
Many clients rave about your personalized approach to skincare and treatments. What’s your philosophy?
We pride ourselves on our customer service and results driven service offerings. We understand that everyone has different needs and hopes for their outcomes, so… no cookie-cutter treatments here! Each treatment is customized and consultations are always complimentary. We will not suggest a treatment for you if we do not 100% feel it is appropriate for you. If you are going to invest your money in us, we want to make sure you are happy with the results.

What’s one treatment you think every busy mom should consider trying and why?
