Meet the Mom Lightening Your Load: Elizabeth Reitz, Founder of Lucky E Concierge Services - Chicago North Shore Moms

Welcome to Chicago North Shore Moms weekly Meet a Mom series where we feature one local mama, what they’re up to both personally and professionally.

Meet Elizabeth Reitz, a Deerfield mom and the founder of Lucky E, a lifestyle concierge service helping busy North Shore families and professionals get back their most valuable resource: time. Elizabeth built Lucky E around 100’s of conversations surrounding various ‘pain points’ and pressures of the day, like work productivity, transportation for an aging senior and mounting list of to-do’s that pile up like hills of clean, unfolded laundry, for example. When she’s not coordinating appointments, vendors, and to-do lists for her clients, she’s serving as president of the Rotary Club of Deerfield and running the North Shore Giving Foundation, a nonprofit she founded to bring the community together through service. Service is Elizabeth’s jam!

In this spotlight Elizabeth’s sharing what grounds her own busy life, why asking for help is one of the smartest investments a family can make, the story behind the name “Lucky E” and how Lucky E can help take a few things off your busy plate! You’ll feel lucky to know her. Welcome, Elizabeth!

Hi Elizabeth! Please introduce yourself: Where do you live on the North Shore, where are you originally from and what brought you to your current town?

I live in Deerfield and moved here from the south suburbs. Like so many families, I came to the North Shore looking for a wonderful place to raise my son, and I stayed because of the incredible sense of community. Over the years, I’ve built lasting friendships, become involved with organizations that mean so much to me, and found a community that truly believes in showing up for one another. It’s become the perfect place to build my business, raise my son, and live a life built around service.

Tell us about your family. Do you have kids? What does motherhood look like in your house these days?

I’m the proud mom of one adventurous ten-year-old who keeps life interesting every single day. Our house is usually filled with conversations about animals, nature, new ideas, and whatever project he’s excited about that week.

Motherhood has taught me that perfection isn’t the goal; being present is. That lesson has shaped every part of my life, including my business, Lucky E. At its heart, Lucky E is about giving people more time to be present for the people and moments that matter most.

What’s something about you that might surprise people outside of your work and mom life?

Many people are surprised to learn that I’m currently serving as President of the Rotary Club of Deerfield. I also founded the North Shore Giving Foundation (NSGF), a nonprofit dedicated to bringing our community together through service and giving. Giving back has always been a big part of who I am, and it’s something I hope my son grows up seeing as simply a way of life.

Where are your go-to spots right now?

The Field House recently named a cocktail after Lucky E, the Lucky E Summer Sangria, which has made it one of my favorite places to meet clients and friends.

When I have a little time to myself, I love treating myself to a facial at Aesthetics Temple. Every busy mom deserves a little self-care now and then!

What are you loving lately?

I’m feeling like myself again, honestly. For years I was the person keeping everyone else’s plates spinning, and I’d quietly written off the tiredness as just part of being a mom. Working with the team at Forest Lounge Medical Center pulled me into the hormone and peptide side of things almost by accident, and the change in my energy was impossible to ignore. I didn’t set out to optimize anything. I just have more to give now, and the people I love get the better version of me.

Is there a quote, mantra, or mindset that grounds you when things feel chaotic?

“You create the future you want.”

It’s a reminder that while we can’t control everything life brings our way, we can choose how we respond. That mindset has guided me through building my business, raising my son, and saying yes to opportunities that have shaped both my career and my community.

It’s time to get down to business! Please introduce Lucky E!

Lucky E is a lifestyle concierge designed to give people something they can never get more of: time. We help busy families, professionals, and older adults simplify everyday life by coordinating the details that often feel overwhelming. Whether it’s managing appointments, planning events, overseeing home projects, or simply handling the to-do list, our goal is to give our clients more time to focus on the people and moments that matter most.

What was the moment you realized there was a real need for a lifestyle concierge service on the North Shore… and that you were the one to fill it?

It wasn’t one big moment. It was hundreds of conversations with incredibly successful people who all had the same challenge: they didn’t need more advice, they needed more time. I realized there were amazing professionals for almost every service imaginable, but no one to bring everything together. That’s where Lucky E came from. I wanted to become the trusted person people could call to make life easier and connect them with the right resources.

How do you describe what you do to someone who’s never heard of a concierge service before?

I usually tell people we’re the trusted person you call when life gets busy. Think of us as a personal chief of staff for everyday life. We coordinate, organize, problem-solve, and connect clients with carefully vetted professionals, saving them countless hours of research, scheduling, and stress. We’re not replacing your favorite businesses; we’re making them easier to access and bringing everything together under one trusted relationship.

What’s the story behind the name Lucky E?

The “E” represents both my son, Everette, and me, Elizabeth. From the very beginning, I wanted to build something that would become part of the legacy I leave for him. He’ll also tell you we’ve always considered ourselves pretty lucky! Over time, Lucky E has come to represent something even bigger. I’ve always believed that the luckiest people aren’t necessarily the ones with the most money or the busiest schedules; they’re the ones who have the time to enjoy the people they love and the life they’ve built. If Lucky E can give someone back even a little more of that time, then we’ve done our job. More than anything, I want every client to feel lucky they found us.

Elizabeth, you give back to your local community in so many ways: You volunteer 100+ hours a year and hold leadership roles in Rotary, PTO, and more. How does your community involvement shape the way you run your business?

Community has always come before business for me. Volunteering has introduced me to incredible people, local organizations, and small businesses throughout the North Shore. Those relationships have taught me that trust is earned by consistently showing up and helping others. That’s exactly how I run Lucky E. We believe every interaction should leave someone feeling more supported than before.

From single parent to small business owner you wear a lot of hats. What does a typical day look like for you?

No two days are ever the same, and honestly, that’s one of the things I love most. One morning I might be helping a client coordinate a move, the next I’m planning a community event, meeting with local business owners, or attending a Rotary meeting before heading to one of my son’s activities. It’s busy, but it’s also incredibly rewarding because every day I get to help people while staying deeply connected to the community I love.

For the overwhelmed mom… What’s the one thing you wish more North Shore families knew about how Lucky E could help them?

You don’t have to do everything yourself. So many parents feel like asking for help means they’re falling behind, when in reality it gives them the opportunity to be more present with the people they love. Whether it’s tackling a to-do list, coordinating trusted vendors, or simply taking something off your plate, we’re here to help families spend less time managing life and more time living it.

What’s next for you and your business?

I’m excited about what’s ahead for Lucky E. As we continue to grow, we’re making concierge services more accessible through new membership options while staying true to our commitment to exceptional service and trusted relationships. Whether someone needs full-service concierge support or simply a trusted resource they can turn to, I want Lucky E to be the first call people make when they need a little more time and a little less stress.

Is there anything else you’d like to tell the Chicago North Shore Moms audience?

I’d simply say thank you. This community has supported me as a mother, a volunteer, and now as a business owner. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s one of the smartest investments you can make in your family, your well-being, and your time. My hope is that Lucky E helps more families experience a little less stress and a lot more of the moments that matter most.
