Are you getting out of the shower and feeling like there’s no moisture in your body? Same, girl same. Chicagoland winters are brutal on our skin- especially our faces because they’re exposed! So today we’re sharing our favorite ways to keep faces feeling hydrated.
Start with a clean slate- Have your skin professionally exfoliated! Dead skin not only looks dull, but it simply soaks up expensive product and keeps it from penetrating where you need it to.
One of our local favorites, Fenner Plastic Surgery and Medical Spa offers a few treatments that we can personally attest to being fabulous & noninvasive. There’s no down time when your a mom! The most simple, Dermaplaning, physically, removes unwanted flaky cells + “baby”hair, and a peel will remove dead skin cells and the oils that bind them. Both can be in conjunction with a facial- which brings me to the ultimate in fresh, hydrated skin, the Hydrafacial! This includes exfoliation and a super hydrating cocktail for your face after (its seriously amazing).

You can’t just walk out of a spa and think your work is done. Noooo. At home care between appointments is so important- and SO hard to keep up with as busy moms! These are a few super star, hard hitting products that will keep your face soft, plump & glowing strait into spring- trust us.
Every visit to Fenner includes stocking up on skinceuticals must haves- C E Ferulic, & H A Intensifier. These two give a boost of hydration, protection, prevention AND a reduction of spots & lines (no brainers). A little tip to make your $$ product last- mix a few drops in with another less expensive, but beneficial product. A favorite is Caudalie Vinoperfect, a day time serum that helps even skin tone & hydrate. Put a few drops of the Vinoperfect first, and the C E Ferulic next and spread onto skin. The Vinoperfect works almost like a vehicle to move the other across more evenly- and you wont waste excessive product.
Lastly, add a few masks to the mix! These aren’t a necessity, but they sure feel like a luxury & a little bit of self care. #momlife calls for easy, un-messy multitaskers. Trish McEvoy has the best sheet masks for tired eyes and face! The Triangle of Light eye mask and the Hydrate and Glow dry sheet mask are a splurge, but worth it and make even the most exhausted skin radiate! You might feel ridiculous while making breakfast in it, but it’s a small price to pay for the lasting results!
Keep calm, stay warm & glow on mama!
