If you haven’t had the tradition of growing up with grandma’s fragrant, chewy, melty, gooey chocolate chip cookies, it’s definitely not too late to start up a tradition of your own. But with so many chocolate chip cooking recipes out there, how do you know which to choose? I can tell you with absolute certainty that this chocolate chip cookie recipe is the one for you and your family. **Secret tip included below.

 

 

The things you will need will be:

  • parchment paper
  • coffee scoop
  • 2-1/4 c. unbleached flour
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 sticks of Imperial brand margarine room temp
  • 1 tbs. pure vanilla extract
  • 1 12 oz. package of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to  375° or convection bake 350°
  • In a large bowl, with a whisk mix together the flour, baking soda and baking powder
  • In a separate large bowl, mix together your room temperature margarine, sugars, eggs and vanilla be sure to mix until margarine clumps are well combined
  • Add the dry ingredients a bit at a time to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined
  • Fold in the entire package of chocolate chips and mix
  • Line your baking sheets with parchment paper
  • Use a coffee scoop (roughly 2 tablespoons of mix) and place on your parchment paper lined baking sheet approximately three inches apart from each other
  • Bake 11-13 minutes, depending on your oven
  • Enjoy the taste, warmth and compliments!

**Chocolate chip cookie tip: To make these perfect the mix should be at room temp prior to baking. Too cold and the cookies will turn out flat and gummy and too warm and they may overcook.
