About a week ago, my family discovered a hornet/wasp nest growing in between the window and storm window outside of one of the 2nd floor bedrooms. YUCK! Although I admit it was fascinating to see these work horses so close up without danger, they had to go. We called Cori from Aerex Pest Control to help with the job – I sure wasn’t going to do it! They were super responsive, communicative and FAST, like same-day fast! Pest control is an essential service and one that will continue to be necessary no matter what in the world is going on. Here’s what you can expect.

The global pandemic we find ourselves in has certainly thrown a wrench in our everyday lives. Everything we’ve ever known as normal has been set aside and we’re finding ourselves in a whole new world trying to figure out how to navigate. Although many businesses in communities worldwide have had to close their doors and do their part to flatten the curve, professional pest control has been recognized as an essential service by the United States Department of Homeland Security. This means, we’ve continued to do our part to keep homes and businesses running smoothly and pest free.
For us, this has meant more families calling us wanting to protect their homes from insects they may not have even noticed previously. Have you found yourself noticing a lot more about your home since you’ve spent so much more time there? Maybe those stink bugs didn’t bother you previously, but now you’d rather not share your home space with them.
More so, many more people are enjoying their yard like they’ve never done before. Pools closed so maybe you bought a blow up one. Stagnant water brings out the mosquitoes in full force!
Additionally, in Illinois at least, we’ve been experiencing extremely warm temperatures for several weeks now. Insects love the heat and humidity. Wasp and hornet activity has certainly surged in the past few weeks. Don’t let them ruin your small piece of sanity in your yard!
