North Shore Public Pools & Splash Pads by North Shore Town! | Chicago North Shore Moms

Whether you’re new to town or just would like to venture outside of your town pool, CNSMoms has you covered with this awesome list (if we do say so ourselves) of public pools and splash pads from Skokie to Lake Bluff and all of the North Shore towns in between.

Evanston

Pool: Norris Aquatics Center @ Northwestern University (2311 Campus Dr., Evanston, IL 60208): Features a 25 yard x 50 meter pool which is also home to the Northwestern Varsity Swimming and Diving teams. Water temperature is kept at a cool 80 degrees. Water depth ranges from 4 feet to 15 feet and includes a hydraulic pool lift. The aquatics center offers a comprehensive program of instructional, fitness, and recreational activities, including swim lessons, water aerobics, competitive swimming, diving, scuba, lifeguarding and CPR courses.

Skokie

Pool: Devonshire Aquatic Center (4400 Greenwood St., Skokie, IL 60076): The Devonshire Aquatic Center is one of the two outdoor aquatic facilities at the Skokie Park District, nestled next to the Devonshire Community Center. This family-friendly facility features a beach entry into the main pool, 25-yard lap swimming lanes, a separate dive tank with a 1-meter diving board and a 3-meter drop slide, and a fully accessible splash pad.

Pool & Splash: Skokie Water Playground (4701 Oakton St., Skokie, IL 60076): Take a leisurely dip in our 14,000 square foot main pool with beach entry, play in our fully accessible splash pad, take a ride down one of our three big slides or take the challenge and stand beneath the big red bucket and get drenched when 300 gallons of water come crashing down! Then take a break and visit our concession stand and have a cool drink or a frozen treat.

Wilmette

Pool: Centennial Family Aquatic Center (2300 Old Glenview Rd, Wilmette, IL 60091): Featuring open swim, lap swim, swim and dive lessons and birthday parties.

Kenilworth/Winnetka/Glencoe

Pool: None specifically located in Kenilworth/Winnetka. Closest water park locations are in Glenview, Northbrook and Wilmette, covered in this post.

Splash: Hubbard Woods Splash Pad (939 Old Green Bay Rd, Winnetka, IL 60093): This playground is conveniently located in the heart of Winnetka with loads of family-friendly restaurants and, of course, Graeter’s Ice Cream shop. We love this park not just for the water but for the clean restrooms and ample picnic tables. However, it does get very crowded and parking is tough to find mid-day.

Splash: Duke Park Sprayground: The playground features an interactive water feature, a hand-crank train, and a 2-12-year-old play area with a poured-in-place safety surface. The hand-crank train cars are available seasonally, Memorial Day-Labor Day. The interactive water feature is on daily, 9 AM-6 PM, during the summer months (Memorial Day-Labor Day).

Glenview

Indoor Pool: Splash Landings Indoor Aquatic Complex (2400 Chestnut Ave., Glenview, IL 60026): Hours and times. Voted the North Shore’s best water park by readers of North Shore Magazine, at Splash Landings, you can do so much! Splash Landings is open year round and offers an extensive program of swimming lessons for all ages through our Starfish Swim School. No matter what the season, there’s always plenty of water fun at the Glenview Park District’s four-pool indoor aquatic center.

Pool: Flick Outdoor Aquatics Center (3600 Glenview Rd., Glenview, IL 60025).

Pool: Roosevelt Outdoor Aquatics Center (2239 Fir St., Glenview, IL 60025).

Splash Pad: Gallery Park/Little Bear Park (2001 Patriot Blvd., Glenview, IL 60026): This park caters to the youngest children in my opinion, maybe ages 0-4 but with the water on, an older child could enjoy it. Toddler climbing equipment, a splash pad, a sand area, a tiny hedge maze, rolling hills and plenty of parking and greenery. Shaded area with bench swings. Located at the NE corner of Patriot Blvd. and Chestnut.

Northfield

Splash: Clarkson Park (1950 New Willow Road (Willow Road & Bristol Street): The Clarkson Park playground and splash pad are now open! Come enjoy the new playground but please stay off any areas that remain fenced or roped off.
