Hi Jessie! Please introduce yourself.
Hi! My name is Jessie Eisenberg. I am 36 years old, I love hoop earrings, and all things aesthetics! I grew up in Buffalo Grove and graduated from Stevenson High School.
I lived in Chicago for 10 years. I graduated from UIC with a major in Biology. Then I got my Master’s in Nursing at Rush in 2013. I worked in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at Rush for 3 years. Once my son was born, we moved to the suburbs. I decided to pursue my true passion. I made the transition from being at the bedside to a career in Aesthetics. I now live in Deerfield with my family.
You’re a mama! Brag away!
I have a 7-year-old little boy. He loves to play baseball and golf. Larry, my favorite 2nd child, is an English bulldog.
What are one or two fun facts to know about you?
I love rap and R&B music. I have a huge sweet tooth . . . I had peanut m&m’s for breakfast today.
Haha! Sounds like a perfect breakfast! What are your favorite North Shore local places to spend with the family?
Cole is really into sports. He loves to hit golf balls at X Golf in Glenview. Washington Gardens in Highwood is a favorite. Sweet’s in Lake Forest is the best, especially in the summertime. It’s also a fantastic way to end a date night after Deer Path Inn.
Thank you for the recs! What gets you through a tough day?
Yoga is a huge outlet for me. It helps clear my mind, body, and soul. Or I’ll put my headphones on, blast some Drake or Chance the Rapper, and go for a run. If I’m having a tough day I’ll sweat it out.
And gluten free double stuffed Oreos . . . they make everything better.
Please introduce your endeavor! How long have you been an injector, what made you go into this line of work?
Every injector has a story of how they got into Aesthetics. It’s highly competitive and difficult field to break into. I was beyond fortunate to be at home with my son those first few years while I was making the transition from the bedside. But being a stay-at-home Mom is one of the hardest jobs out there. It was tough for me mentally and I missed having a career.
I networked, took courses, shadowed, and immersed myself into all things Aesthetics. I had amazing mentors along the way (they know who they are) and I would be lost without the two of them.
After about a year or so, a part time position became available at Images Med Spa in Wilmette. I interviewed and somehow got the job! It was one of the best moments in my life. I was beyond grateful for the opportunity.
From that moment on, I dedicated myself to building my business. Social media is such a vital part of Aesthetics. I created an Instagram account and decided to put myself out there.
I connect with patients, other injectors, learn new techniques, and display my work. It’s been a huge part of growing my business.
What advice do you have for people who are trepidatious about starting Botox or Fillers?
I always say to patients, you can analyze your face all day long. We aren’t here to fix things; we work together to improve them. This isn’t surgery.
Botox can soften fine lines due to dynamic movement overtime. Filler is another tool that we use to restore volume. Depending on a patient’s goal we go from there. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. We start slow, learn your aesthetic, and go from there.
What other products are out there that people may not have heard of?
Sculptra is biostimulator that helps produce your own collagen overtime. It’s perfect for my yoga and marathon runners, who have loose skin elasticity but don’t need volume. Once you turn 30, everyone can benefit from at least 1 vial of Sculptra. It’s all about collagen!
Daxxify is the new neuromodulator in town that can last up to 6 months. Botox and Dysport have accessory proteins attached to the neurotoxin. Daxxify is the first neuromodulator to have a peptide. Its unique formulation allows it last longer.
Do men come in for Botox and Fillers?
The answer is YES! Do I have more female patients than males, for sure. But I have seen an increase in male patients over the past year. I think Covid and zoom played a big role. Seeing yourself live, in real time is different.
Botox for Hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating) is also popular. Another favorite is PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) for hair loss.
How often do people have to maintain their services?
Botox and Dysport are indicated to last up to 3 months. There are recommended FDA dosing guidelines when treating a patient to get to 3 months. Dose equals duration. Every patient’s dose is different. Anatomy, genetics, and personal aesthetic all play a role. I recommend coming every 3-4 months. If our goal is to soften static lines at rest, you want to get to it before the muscle and tissue can interact. Otherwise, you are starting over.
Describe something you’re most proud of in your profession.
I am constantly learning new techniques and evolving my practice. Continued education and trainings are a huge part of what makes a good injector. It’s an amazing profession and I can’t believe it’s my job! But there is a lot of hustle, hard work, and financial investment that goes on behind the scenes to perfect our craft.
When clients come to you what can they expect?
Whenever I meet a patient for the first time, I always say this is our first date. It is important that we get to know one another. I perform a full facial assessment, which includes pictures with and without animation. All photos are protected in our HIPPA based cloud server, for our eyes only. Next, we look at the photos together. We go over your anatomy in depth and customize your treatment. It gives me a chance to learn your aesthetic and areas you’re looking to improve. I think it’s important for my patients to understand their anatomy and why I would or would not recommend certain treatments. Aesthetics is both an art and a science. There is a reason behind every dose, product selection, and treatment.
What’s on the horizon for you?
I am one of the lead injectors at Images. I help train and mentor new injectors. I recently became an instructor at Aesthetic Mentor with Amie Martin, teaching the very same Botox and filler courses I took . . . It’s surreal.
Is there anything else you’d like us to know?
The relationship between injectables and skin care is so important. You can do as many injectables as you want, but if that canvas isn’t looking good it doesn’t matter. Invest in medical grade skin care and laser treatments.
