This week we’re are excited to introduce you to Deerfield mom of three sweethearts, and the sales and catering manager with Renaissance Chicago Glenview Suites Hotel, Irene Rozenberg!
When Irene isn’t hanging with the kids or at the Renaissance Suites Hotel in Glenview, she’s creating ‘spirited’ jewelry with fellow mom friend, Mel, a la their female-founded brand Show Your Spirit Designs. Hi Irene! Please introduce yourself. Where are you from originally? What city do you live in now? What brought you here?
Hi, I’m Irene Rozenberg. I grew up in Niles, and moved to Northbrook with my family before high school. My husband and I bought our home in Deerfield 10 years ago. We wanted to stay close to our families. I have 3 kids ages 11, almost 7 and 5. We spend our weekends on the soccer field because all 3 kids play!
What are one or two fun facts to know about you?
A fellow North Shore mom and I own a business called Show Your Spirit Designs. We make custom jewelry and resin art pieces.
What are your favorite North Shore eats to frequent?
We LOVE Highwood. A few favorites are Froggy’s, Longitud 315 and Chicago Mike’s Ice Cream, which is now Billy Brick’s Pizza & Ice Cream.
What gets you through a tough day (ie. lots of coffee, yoga, meditation, wine, a good book, etc)?
Coffee! Our office is made of moms and we all start our day with a latte from the Starbucks in our hotel lobby!
You are the sales and catering manager with Renaissance Chicago Glenview Suites Hotel. Tell us about this property.
Renaissance Chicago Glenview Suites Hotel is an all-suite hotel with an indoor pool and fitness center! Complete with an indoor greenhouse, we offer 14,000 sq feet of unique event space. Our extensive catering menu is perfect for your next wedding, Mitzvah, shower, or meeting.
And your role as the sales & catering manager?
With such a large property I am one of three liaisons to help our guests create memorable moments. Anyone looking to plan an event or a block of rooms can contact me in the sales office to begin planning. We help make the entire process seamless and successful.
What do you love most about working here?
THE PEOPLE! We have the most amazing staff in every department of the hotel. It’s the best part of coming to work and allows us to deliver the best experience to our clients.
What is the process of booking event space like from start to finish? What can they expect from a customer service perspective?
Upon the initial conversation, we walk the client through all of their options and assist in selection the best fit for them. After contracting, we remain in direct communication with the client to finalize all menu selections, sleeping room accommodations and event setup details.
Why should couples and even families consider booking a stay here as a staycation?
Because it feels like vacation! Each room has a living room with a sofa sleeper and a separate bedroom. Along with our Bourbon Kitchen and Tap Restaurant, we also have an indoor pool, open year round and large fitness center. Close to the North Shore, we are an easy overnight getaway.
