The never-ending laundry pile!
Laundry is often the bane of my existence with two busy kids who manage to go through a lot of clothes with all of the sports they play. I often reserve folding for the weekend which can pile up fast. When I heard about Drop and Dash laundry I was excited to find a solution to the dreaded laundry problem.
The service is really simple to use and takes about 5 minutes initially set up:
- Simply order on their website or download the Drop and Dash app for your iPhone or Google Play
- You’ll make an account and double check that the service delivers to your area
- From there you’ll select from four initial options: laundry by the pound, King/Queen comforter, Twin/Full comforter and pillow
- Select your drying methods and detergent preferences
- Choose your pick and drop off times – same day is available for orders placed before 2pm, seven days a week.
Estimating your laundry by the pound.
If you choose laundry by the pound ($1.95/pound) you’ll be asked to approximate how many bags, assuming each bag weighs 20 pounds. This was a little tricky as each bag will likely vary by a few pounds here and there. We filled our laundry in garbage bags (they do not provide laundry bags) and put it on the scale to get an estimate. They weigh it upon receipt and will adjust the price accordingly. The bag was over by a few pounds that they calculated and charged me later.

Yes! You can select detergent and dry specifications
Once you specify your laundry needs, you’ll be prompted to make another choice of standard dry, hang dry (for an extra fee) or unscented/hypoallergenic detergent for $3.00 extra. I am highly allergic to most fragrances so it was nice to see the fragrance free detergent option.
The pickup and drop off time – SAME DAY is possible!!!
From there you’ll select a pickup window of time, set your driver tip and then your subsequent drop off time. I was surprised and delighted to have my laundry returned the same day. The delivery is powered through Uber and you do have the option to choose contactless delivery as well.

You can also set your preferences in your initial profile or before you submit your order on your washer and dryer heat for both whites and colors. That way it’s saved each time you return to the app for a new order.

The process took around five minutes and then I loaded up my laundry in a garbage bag and set it on the porch. When it returned it was in a clear plastic bag with everything folded and the looser items like socks and underwear in a separate smaller bag enclosed in the larger bag.
It was easy enough for my kids to gather all their clothes, stuff it in a bag and then unload once it arrived back. I simply opened the bag and was able to put it in piles and subsequently load in drawers.
At $1.95 per pound, it’s a great time saving hack when those weeks get just too busy. I can also see it being great for when kids return from overnight camp or a school trip. The service is on-demand, so simply click a few buttons and laundry is instantly taken off your plate. Overall I had a great experience.
