Downtown Evanston is launching “Flower Power” promotion to inspire positive energy and good vibes for our community as we transition into spring. Building on the historical themes of peace, harmony and nonviolence, the month-long promotion will feature floral-themed installations in businesses and public spaces, spring shopping and dining promotions, creative workshops and highlight outdoor spaces to explore in and around Evanston.
From April 22 to May 8 (Earth Day to Mother’s Day), Downtown Evanston will host the following events:
Earth Day Clean Up in downtown Evanston | Friday, April 22, 9-11am
Gather at Fountain Square to team up with co-workers and neighbors to help pick up litter in downtown Evanston. You will be provided with gloves, garbage bags and donuts after the event! Register here.
Flower Power Window Decorating Contest | April 22 – May 8
Stroll through downtown to admire the creative storefront windows and vote on your favorite! Businesses are using all their “flower power” to create memorable floral designs. The winning windows will be announced on Mother’s Day. Click here to cast your vote!
Mother’s Day Sip ‘N Stroll | Saturday, May 7, 3-6pm
Grab some gal pals, your mom, and that other special figure in your life to explore downtown businesses offering tasty sips and shopping specials! Stop by Fountain Square to take a photo at a unique floral installation by Raelou Creative and enjoy dinner out at a downtown restaurant. Click here to RSVP for the Sip ‘N Stroll.
