The Golden Loc by Prentiss Matthews III
After getting bullied by kids at school for her locs, Zia is taken on a journey by the magical Aziza Fairies, who uproot the seed of anti-Blackness before it sprouts and teach Zia self-love and empowerment. This play is a celebration of Black women, Black girls, and Black beauty that imagines a world where we never get told our Blackness is “too much”. Put simply, this play is #blackgirlmagic!
