Gratitude Generation Service Squad: In Person Shop & Share 4/14/24

We are so excited to now offer you another IN PERSON Shop & Share opportunity! Gather your family or friends and register to join us for this eye opening program. Each group will be challenged to purchase a weeks worth of groceries for a family of 4 using a budget of $80.

Participants will receive some information ahead of time via email and will then meet in person to shop for groceries and deliver them to a local food pantry.

Participants are also asked to bring a quarter for the shopping cart and reusable shopping bags (that they will take back with them after delivering the food to the food pantry) and a calculator.

Participants who register for the event on their own will be paired up or added to another group.

Gratitude Generation will pay for up to $80 worth of groceries/group. Any group that goes beyond $80 will be responsible for covering the difference. Gratitude Generation will provide tax exampt letters so tax will not need to be factored in to the calculations. In order to allow us to continue to offer free programming for our volunteers, donations are always appreciated. gratitudegeneration.org

Participants will then transport the groceries to Sue’s Pantry. If you can not transport the groceries to the food pantry, the g2 coordinators will do so for you. However, seeing the inside of a food pantry and learning about the services they provide is an impactful element to round out this project.

1:00-2:00 Aldi – 2201 Willow Road, Glenview. Gratitude Generation coordinators will meet you in the food packing area near the front windows inside the store

2:00-3:00 Northfield Township Food Pantry, 2550 Waukegan, Rd. #100, Glenview – If you can not transport the groceries to the food pantry, the g2 coordinators will do so for you. However, seeing the inside of a food pantry and learning about the services they provide is an impactful element to round out this project.
