Join Downtown Evanston, The Woman’s Club of Evanston and Brightview Landscaping on Sunday, April 21, from 12-2PM for an Earth Day Clean-Up event aimed at fostering community engagement and environmental stewardship. Individuals, families, office groups, students, etc. are all encouraged to lend a hand in making our downtown business district a cleaner and more welcoming place to live, work and visit!
Participants will gather at Fountain Square to get outfitted with gloves, bags and maps before heading out in small groups to pick up litter and debris along assigned corridors within the Downtown Evanston business district. When finished, participants will bring the trash bags back to Fountain Square for disposal.
“This annual clean-up event is a great opportunity for local residents to honor Earth Day, and to play an active role in helping to keep our downtown clean and welcoming to visitors,” said Downtown Evanston executive director, Andy Vick.
“The Woman’s Club of Evanston is delighted to be partnering with Downtown Evanston and Brightview Landscapes in the Earth Day Clean-Up. It is a wonderful opportunity for our members to do something direct and concrete to benefit the community,” said Susan Bedard, chair of the Woman’s Club of Evanston’s Community Outreach Committee.
A special thanks to Brightview Landscaping – the landscaping contractor for Downtown Evanston – for providing the clean-up supplies and for removing all trash collected during the event. Volunteers who pre-register at https://downtownevanston.org/
