Suite Escape is excited to welcome Nadia Rawlinson, Co-Owner & Chairman of the Chicago Sky Women’s NBA. A Lake Forest native, Nadia attended Lake Forest High School, followed by Stanford University and Harvard Business School. Nadia’s enthusiasm for the Chicago SKY can be traced back to the golden era of the Chicago Bulls. Nadia tried to trick-or-treat at Michael Jordan’s house, celebrated her 16th birthday at a Bulls game, and snuck out to take the Metra downtown with friends to celebrate the 1997 championship. Over lunch, Nadia guide you through three core principles:
1. Be a positive leader. Nadia describes herself as a “Chief Optimism Officer”, striving to create workspaces where people can thrive and meet their full potential. Leaders who combine positivity, thoughtfulness and humor have a remarkable ability to inspire, connect and provide an enjoyable environment for all those they lead.
2. Keep learning and evolving. Nadia will share tips and tricks from her amazing twenty year career. Formerly serving as Chief People Officer for Slack Technologies, and Chief Human Resource Officer for Live Nation, Nadia is constantly adapting and learning ways to evolve the workforce. Nadia is a Stanford University Board Trustee, and on the Board of Directors for the J.Crew Group, Vail Resorts, The Executive Leadership Council and Save the Children.
3. You are only “YOUR AGE” once- start something new. As a Co-Owner of the Chicago SKY, Nadia saw a chance for something groundbreaking, and created a franchise opportunity “for women by women, especially women of color.” Nadia oversees the development of the Sky’s strategic business initiatives, which includes establishing and growing corporate partnerships and increasing the organization’s civic engagement throughout the community.
The Suite Escape Lunch Series is designed to connect women who believe in the power of growth, both personally and professionally. Lunch includes a delicious salad of your choice from Towne & Oak Cafe in Winnetka, along with a sweet treat and beverage of your choice.
