Doors Open Dishes 2024 Fundraiser: Celebrating Smiles

Join us as we celebrate our cause with a very special evening at LeTour Restaurant, where we will feature four dishes from Doors Open Dishes chef-client partnerships. This year’s theme—Celebrating Smiles—arises from the belief that access to dental care is a right for all individuals, and a cornerstone to the quality of life we all deserve. To support this vision, proceeds from the evening will benefit The Susan Schnitzler Happy Faces Fund, an extension of Doors Open Dishes that addresses the often overlooked dental care needs of those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our evening will feature:

Special selections from DAOU, premier wines focusing on Bordeaux varieties from California’s central coast.
Todd Stein (Ballyhoo Hospitality): Dish inspired by Avi of Keshet Organization
Charles Welch (RPM Seafood): Dish inspired by Jada of The Answer
Christian Ragano: Dish inspired by Daniel of Gateway to Learning
Leigh Omilinsky and Bridget Shanahan (Daisies): Dish inspired by Paige of Clearbrook Organization
Kyleen Gray: Send-off surprise inspired by Jada of The Answer

Those unable to join us for this event who would still like to donate towards our mission and programming may do so here. We are grateful for your support.

**Suggested attire: Smart-casual & Celebratory! However you define it (welcoming all sequins/sparkle/bright colors).
**Paid parking is available at the garage located at 1603 Orrington Avenue (you can reserve in advance via ParkChirp: https://parkchirp.com/facilities/1603-orrington-avenue-parking/). There is also paid street parking. Please note: Valet parking is not available for this event.
**The evening’s menu will contain meat, dairy, and gluten. Due to the format of this event, we will not be able to accommodate special dietary requests. Please contact us directly with any questions.

About Doors Open Dishes and the Susan Schnitzler Happy Faces Fund:

Doors Open Dishes is a 501c3 organization committed to keeping the doors open to the group homes and recreational programs of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We partner with chefs across Chicagoland to create dishes inspired by one of these individuals, with proceeds from dish sales directly benefitting their organization.

We created The Susan Schnitzler Happy Faces Fund as a way of honoring our late mother Susan, a beloved nurse and special needs advocate who dedicated her life to the service and well-being of others.

By attending our fundraiser and donating to this fund, you are directly supporting the often-overlooked dental care needs of the developmentally and intellectually disabled community.
